Amalie
Hello Delegates! And welcome to PANMUN XXVIII. My name is Amalie Kjeldsen, I am 16 years old, and a Junior at the International School of Panama. My family is originally from Denmark, however, I was born in Holland, and have since lived in Spain and Russia until I moved to Panama four years ago. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, and I am also part of the school's soccer team. This will be my third year in PANAMUN, the last two years I have participated as a delegate; this will be my first time being a chair. I have gained a lot of debate experience over the past two years and even won the Diplomacy Award last year as a delegate in HRC. I look forward to seeing you in the debate and how you will work together to come to a consensus while being respectful and having everyone engaged. This year, I have the privilege of being one of your chairs for the Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC). I look forward to starting the debate, and meeting all of you!
Alicia
Hello, delegates! My name is Alicia Arias and I am a 12th grader at The Metropolitan School of Panama, I am very excited to be chairing the Disarmament and International Security Committee II. I started my MUN journey as a young 9th grader and have now become fully enveloped in all the great things that it has to offer. My first conference was in fact PANAMUN and after this, I have participated in conferences such as WAMUNC, THIMUN, METMUN, and others. Last year participating in METMUN was my first time chairing and I have been passionate about doing it again, which is why I am so excited to be chairing this committee. Apart from MUN, I am also participating in Make a Wish and I pride myself on being able to do community service. Personally, my passions include cooking, baking, and reading. I know this whole process can be somewhat scary, but I hope that we will all be able to enjoy ourselves in this committee as well as have a fruitful debate that will bring forward great resolutions. Can’t wait to see all of you!
