Isabel Fonseca

Deputy Secretary General of Special Committees

Hi! My name is Isabel Fonseca and I’m currently a senior at the International School of Panama. I’m Panamanian and have lived here my whole life. Some of my interests include cooking, reading, and learning Mandarin. Of course, I also thoroughly enjoy participating in MUN and attending different debate conferences.

I first tried out debate in the Middle School MUN Club here at ISP. I fell in love with it and soon after attended my first PANAMUN conference in the eighth grade. What I enjoyed most about PANAMUN was the diplomatic environment it fostered for students to speak up about important issues. Ever since my first conference, I continued on to debate in other places. In ninth grade, I went to the THIMUN conference in The Hague, and the next year I attended the HACIA Democracy conference in the Dominican Republic. I additionally attended several local conferences here in Panama.

For PANAMUN XXVIII, I will be the Deputy Secretary General of Special Committees. I’m incredibly honored to hold this position as I have been the Historical Crisis chair for the past two years and have completely fallen in love with what each of the special committees has to offer. I’m extremely excited to show you all the changes that we’ve made this year and what’s in store for the special committees! See you in October!
