Gianluca

Hello, delegates! My name is Gianluca Cassino and currently, I’m a senior at Colegio Brader. I’m extremely excited to be chairing the SOCHUM Committee in this year’s version of PANAMUN. I started my Model UN journey when I was in 10th grade and I fell in love with debating right away. I have participated in many conferences in the past three years such as David Robles X, Young Democracy 2018, Future Leaders Forum, Brader Model of the United Nations, IDEA, and Gran Foro! Right now I’m president of the debate club for this year 2020, and basically, that means I work organizing events and teaching MUN to delegates at Brader’s Debate Club. A fun fact about the SOCHUM Committee is that it was the first committee I had ever participated in as a delegate back in 2018! This year I’ve had the opportunity to chair in conferences such as David Robles XI and Brader’s Virtual Model of the United Nations. My passions consist of volunteering, staying informed to international news, learning about technology, practicing Italian, and of course debating. I can’t wait to meet you all very soon, and I’m looking forward to having a great time filled with diplomacy, commitment, and fun!

Juliana

Hello delegates, and welcome to PANAMUN XXVIII! My name is Juliana Giraldo, and currently, I am a Junior at the Metropolitan School of Panama. I am originally from Bogota, Colombia, but have resided in Panama for ten years (basically more than half of my life as I am sixteen years old). My MUN journey began back when I was in eight grade, when I had no knowledge on international affairs whatsoever, and was very shy when it came to debate (something which gradually changed as I submerged myself into the MUN world). Now, I am proud to say that I have participated in seven MUN conferences: I delegated in three PANAMUN editions, WAMUNC XX (in Washington DC), GCI MUN (in New York), and have chaired the UNEP committee in METMUN’s first edition, as well as the Security Council in HOMEMUNN (an online conference). Aside from debate, I enjoy playing volleyball, spending time with my friends, and travelling. I can’t express how excited I am to chair SOCHUM this year, and I am really looking forward to passionate and intense debate, and for delegates to act diplomatically as they attempt to solve global scale issues. I can’t wait to meet you all! See you soon!
