CHAIRS
Amalie
Hello Delegates! And welcome to PANAMUN XXIX. My name is Amalie Kjeldsen, I am 17 years old, and a Senior at the International School of Panama. My family is originally from Denmark, however, I was born in Holland, and have since lived in Spain and Russia until I moved to Panama five years ago. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, and I am also part of the school's soccer team. This will be my fourth year in PANAMUN, the first two years I participated as a delegate, and last year I had the honor of being a chair. Over the past three years I have gained a lot of experience in debate, and being a chair has taught me many valuable things. I look forward to seeing you in the debate and how you will work together to come to a consensus while being respectful and having everyone engaged. This year, I have the privilege of being one of your chairs for the Human Rights Council (HRC). I look forward to starting the debate, and meeting all of you!
Sophie
Hello delegates, my name is Sophie Pellenz and I am currently a senior at the International School of Panama. It’s an honor to be a chair of the HRC committee in PANAMUN. I look forward to working with all of you on this committee. So here’s a little about me, so you can get to know me better. I’m currently 17 years old and I have been in ISP for about 13 years now. I was originally born in Toronto Canada but my nationalities are Brasilian and German. Playing sports is a very big part of my life. I have always loved soccer, basketball, swimming, volleyball, track, and etc. But soccer is my sport. I’ve played soccer since I was 8 years old and I have always loved it. I started my MUN experience when I was a freshman. I have always loved debating so being a chair is very exciting for me. Global issues are extremely important, but resolving these problems is the fun part of PANAMUN. PANAMUN is a safe place where you can make your voice be heard. I am looking forward to this year's conference and I’m very excited to get to know all of you during PANAMUN. I wish you guys the best of luck.
