Gabriela

Delegates, welcome to PANAMUN XXIX! My name is Gabriela Edwards and I’m a senior. I am 17 years old and I’m from Panama City. I grew up here and I’ve attended ISP since pre-kinder. I look forward to working with each and every one of you and hopefully making your PANAMUN experience an enjoyable one. I first participated in this conference in 7th grade as an admin. It was a bit intimidating because at the time there were no Middle School committees in PANAMUN, but I quickly fell in love with the experience. This will be my 5th PANAMUN and I can’t wait to meet all of you! The skills that you will gain from this conference are priceless and you’ll be using them all throughout High School and even beyond.  A little bit about myself, I love to perform and study music. I enjoy playing volleyball and I also really like studying and learning about the social sciences. I’m very excited to be able to get to know you all and I wish you all the best of luck!

Raúl

Hi delegates! I would like to extend to each and every one of you a very warm welcome to PANAMUN XXIX. My name is Raúl Endara and I am currently a junior at the International School of Panama. I am honored and thrilled to be one of the chairs for this year’s Middle School Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice. I was born in the U.S but my family is Panamanian and I have spent the entirety of my 17 years living in Panama. I remember my first MUN conference quite fondly. It was called PACMUN and took place at the American School of Paris. I was actually in a quite similar position to the one all of you find yourselves in now as I too was a middle schooler at the time. I got to be part of the Security Council and it was an incredibly fun learning experience that led me to enjoy and thoroughly prepared me for the two PANAMUN conferences I have also been a part of since then. As you may have inferred, this will be my 4th MUN conference, 3rd PANAMUN conference, and 1st time chairing. One of my favorite parts about MUN is getting to hear all the different perspectives surrounding global issues and the reasoning behind them which is why I can’t wait to read all of your position papers/graphic organizers as well as hear all your insightful points regarding our issues. I am anxiously anticipating getting to meet all of you and hope we will have a particularly fruitful conference.
