CHAIRS
Daniel
Hello delegates! My name is Daniel Igualada and I am currently a Senior at the International School of Panama. I am delighted to be part of PANAMUN XXIX and honored to be a chair in the Commission on Science and Technology for Development committee. Although I was born in New Jersey, I have spent the majority of my life living in other places, including England and El Salvador. This is currently my third year living in Panama. In my free time, I love spending time outdoors and exercising, whether it be playing soccer, boxing, or going on a run. I also love helping out the community through club initiatives and volunteering. In regards to my MUN experience, this will be my third PANAMUN experience and fourth MUN conference. I have also volunteered at a school in the United States where I virtually taught middle school students to debate procedures and tips on how to be successful when debating. I firmly believe that PANAMUN is a great opportunity where students can become acquainted with real-world issues and acts of diplomacy as well as giving students the opportunity to exercise and improve a variety of useful skills. The UNCSTD committee is extremely enjoyable and I trust that you all will have a great time. I look forward to meeting and seeing you all during the debate!
Abel
Hello! My name is Abel Resende and I am currently an 11th grader at the International School of Panama. I have studied here at ISP since kindergarten when I first moved to Panama. All the way back in middle school, I have always wanted the opportunity to become a chair. Last year I finally got the honor to be one of the chairs of the Human Rights Council and this year a chair for the UNCSTD. I am excited to meet all of you and help you all have a great debate. I have lots of experience being a delegate and therefore I know how a chair must act and behave to make the debate flow. I have participated in MUN since seventh grade and have gone to multiple conferences. Apart from debating I love to watch and play all types of sports especially soccer and basketball. I also love hearing Latin music and keeping updated with the world’s biggest issues. Being part of Panamun XXIX is a great responsibility and I can assure you, I will try my best to make this conference the best one yet. Alongside my fellow co-chairs, we will guide you through the conference and help you when needed. I hope to meet and greet all of you real soon. Help me make this committee the best one ever!
