CHAIRS
Giordana
Hi delegates, hope you’re all just as excited as I am for PANAMUN XXIX! My name is Giordana Perez, and I am currently a junior at the International School of Panama. I am incredibly honored to be a chair in the United Nations Development Programme and take part in this year’s conference. I was born in Panama and have lived in this country for my whole life, therefore I joined ISP at a very young age. I have been a delegate at PANAMUN for these last two years as this conference grew my love for debate. Model UN gives me the opportunity to speak about what I stand for and share my voice amongst other people. Additional hobbies I enjoy include exercising, reading, and spending time with friends. The UNDP committee tackles incredibly important issues that call for change in this world, and I want to hear all of your incredible ideas! As this will be my first experience as a chair, I will make sure to work towards a memorable experience for all of you. Good luck everybody!
Lea
Hello and welcome delegates to PANAMUN XXIX! My name is Lea Ward, and I am very excited to be chairing UNDP in this year’s PANAMUN conference. I am a Junior (11th grade) at the Metropolitan School of Panama (MET), but I was born in Belgium and have lived in various countries across four continents while growing up. I joined my school’s MUN club in 8th grade and quickly realized that MUN encompassed multiple things I was passionate about, including debate and international affairs. Through MUN, I have been able to further develop and expand these passions as well as my public speaking, research skills, and understanding of global issues. I have had the opportunity to undertake different roles in the conferences I have participated in, including being a delegate, chairing, and participating in the organization of MUN conferences. Aside from debate, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, travelling, and reading. I am very much looking forward to meeting all of you, and am optimistic that we will have an enjoyable and productive debate, despite the unusual circumstances. See you soon!
