Mariana Araujo
Deputy Secretary General of External Affairs
Hello! My name is Mariana Araujo and I am honoured to be your DSG of External Affairs for the 26th edition of PANAMUN! My interest for Model United Nations began once I moved to Panama three years ago after living my entire life in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Six months into the school I was elected as the ninth grade representative at ISP’s High School Student Council, a position which I immediately felt comfortable with! The idea of representing a group of people appealed to me, which is why I knew I would enjoy participating in PANAMUN. I first represented the delegation of Russia in the CCPCJ committee, followed by a reporter in the Echo Press team. It was during my third year at the conference, however, that I decided to be part of the External Affairs team as an Ambassador, and I must admit that was the year I was able to thrive the most! I felt challenged yet encouraged by my duties, which is why I knew I wanted to apply for the position of DSG of External Affairs during my senior year.
I feel extremely privileged to be part of the Secretariat and hopefully I will be able to represent this position as well as last year’s DSG of External Affairs, Fabiana Avendaño. I can’t wait to personally meet every single one of you during the conference! You may have my word that PANAMUN is one of a kind, and hopefully you will adore it as much as I do! Prepare yourselves because this edition will be the best one yet! Welcome to PANAMUN XXVI: Strengthening Our Humanity.
