Hello! I'm Mariana Colmenares and I am currently a junior at the International School of Panama. I moved to Panama two years ago, and I am from Venezuela. I lived in Brazil for the majority of my life, though I also spent a year and a half in Singapore.

 

I first got involved in MUN when the first section of the junior Model United Nations was started at my school in Brazil when I was in 7th grade. Since then I've been actively participating in conferences, such as trips to THIMUN, where I was a delegate the first year and a chair my second year, and HACIA. This year's PANAMUN will be my 11th conference overall.

 

I have the honor of being part of the secretariat in this PANAMUN XXVI as one of the Deputy Secretary Generals of the Middle School along with an amazing team. I am incredibly excited and hope that along with the rest of the secretariat, as well as the student officer team, we can make this a great conference for you.

 

I am eager to meet you all in October, and I hope you will be able to enjoy PANAMUN as much as I enjoy being a part of its planning process. I hope that each committee is able to have an incredibly gratifying experience by the means of cooperation, creativity, and initiative on everyone’s part. See you in October!
