Daniela Melani

Welcome delegates to PANAMUN XXVII! My name is Daniela Melani and I will be your Social, Cultural and Humanitarian Affairs Committee (also known as SOCHUM) chair this upcoming October. To tell you a bit about myself, I am 17 years old and I am currently a senior at the Metropolitan School of Panama, a school I have attended since 6th grade. I was born in Santiago de Chile but moved to Caracas, Venezuela at the age of 4. My dad is Italian and my mom is from Argentina, and I am the fourth of six siblings. We decided to move to Panama in 2013. I joined the MUN Team at my school in 2016, which gave me the opportunity to further develop my leadership skills and become more engaged in current global issues, as well as allowing me to pursue my passion for debate. I have since attended many conferences representing diverse nations whilst discussing important topics, PANAMUN included. This is my first time being a chair and I am excited and confident that we will be able to work together in the hopes of developing viable resolutions to the issues at hand. Don’t hesitate to contact me if needed, I’m looking forward to meeting you all! See you soon!
