Hello, my name is Maria Muñoz and I have the honor to be your Deputy Secretary General of External Affairs for the 27th edition of PANAMUN!

I was born in Guatemala to Colombian and Salvadorean parents, but I have lived in Panama for 16 years. I am currently a senior at the International School of Panama, where I have studied my entire life. My passion for external affairs stemmed from last year’s conference, where I was able to work alongside an amazing team to create an exceptional conference. Being in this new environment, I felt challenged but at the same time encouraged by the different jobs I had to complete. Being able to be a part of the PANAMUN staff was what led me to see the hard work put behind the logistics of the conference. This is also what encouraged me to apply for the position of DSG of External Affairs for my last session.

I feel extremely privileged to be part of the Secretariat and hopefully, I will be able to represent this position as well as last year’s DSG of External Affairs, Mariana Araujo. I  am extremely excited to meet all of you during the conference! We put a lot of hard work into PANAMUN XXVII so I hope that you will love it as much as we enjoyed preparing it! Prepare yourselves for the best edition of PANAMUN yet; welcome to BUILDING BRIDGES: CONFRONTING GLOBAL POLARIZATION.
