Stefanos
Hey delegates, welcome to PANAMUN XXVII! My name is Stefanos Kitras, currently a senior and returning student here at the International School of Panama. Being born here in Panama and of American descent, I have gotten to know the best of both worlds. As an international student, the socio-cultural clashes I’ve experienced throughout my life have changed my perception, for the better, of what it is to be multicultural. My interest in debate roots back to delegating and representing the Kingdom of Thailand within the Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC). Since then, I have gotten the chance to attend THIMUN as a delegate alongside participating in a number of other extracurricular debate opportunities. Apart from debating, sports and music have always piqued my interest. Both soccer and basketball have helped shape my character both in and out of the classroom. As your chair for UNDP, I will ensure that you have the most fulfilling experience this PANAMUN despite the lack of physical activity and debate. Regardless of the virtual platform, I highly recommend and encourage that you participate to make the most out of this conference. Looking forward to it!
Mikah
Hello, delegates! My name is Mikah Dumas and I’m a sophomore at Linden Hall in Lititz, Pennsylvania. I was born in Santa Monica, California but have lived in Panama my entire life until this year. I attended the International School of Panama for eleven years, but was granted a scholarship to be part of an equestrian team at my new school! Which is what I love doing most. Besides that, I have been into MUN since middle school. Fighting for what I believe in and having opinions is something I was always raised to do by my parents, with that, MUN became something similar to a passion. I was in the MUN club during seventh and eighth grade and did my first conference as an eighth grader! That was when I fell in love and was so excited to be a delegate in the following school year in PANAMUN XXVII. I won the research award as the delegation of Sweden and had a new goal of being Chair in the upcoming conference. This being said, I was granted the honor of being a Chair in this year's PANAMUN! Even though we are all under these awkward circumstances and miles apart, I can’t wait to meet all of you and have an amazing conference this year!
