Kai

Hello delegates and welcome to Panamun XXVIII! My name is Kai Rowlands and I have the honor of being one of your chairs for this year’s Middle School CCPCJ Committee. I am from the United States although I have spent the majority of my life around the world. I was born in Mexico but I lived in the Balkans for 7 years. I have been at ISP since 10th grade.  I am very fortunate to be able to chair for my senior year at ISP. I have gotten a taste of almost every side of Panamun; my first year I was a delegate and my second year I was an admin as well as a reporter for Echopress. I now get to finish up my Panamun time as a chair. My time at ISP has allowed me to try many activities including volleyball, tennis, and various other clubs. I look forward to having a successful conference and I cannot wait to see what you all have to offer. I am excited to meet you and I wish you the best of luck!

Skyler

Welcome delegates to PANAMUN XXVII! My name is Skyler Melvin, I am a senior attending the International School of Panama and I have the honour of being a chair for the United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ) this year. I was born in Dallas, Texas but I have been living around the world most of my life in countries such as the Dominican Republic, Lesotho, and most recently here in Panama. Personally I am not an experienced debater as this is my first PANAMUN, however I will strive to assure that this event is carried out smoothly. I am hoping to make my first experience in chairing a debate wonderful for myself and more importantly you, the delegates. I may not know debate as much, but I do experience and insight in international affairs from working with my parents and those in American embassies across the world. Aside from my insider knowledge I have gained great insight from my IB courses in understanding global systems, such as IB Global Politics HL. I encourage everyone to come to the conference with a great attitude, an eagerness to express your knowledge and opinions, as well as the willingness to be flexible with others' opinions. I am eager to hear all about the ground-breaking and innovative ideas that will arise from the three days of debate, working together to find different solutions to these significant problems. I aim to make this experience memorable and meaningful for all that are participating in this PANAMUN, especially so when we are continuing to adapt in these troubling times.
