Maya Livne
Hi delegates! My name is Maya Livne and I will be your chair for this year’s Disarmament and International Security Committee in the 26th session of PANAMUN. I am currently a junior at the International School of Panama, which I have been attending for almost 12 years now. My nationality is a bit complicated: I was born in Quito, Ecuador, but I am of Israeli descent. Besides my passion for debate, I enjoy playing flag football, participating in my project called Eco Leaders, and expressing myself through the guitar/piano. My debate experience extends back to the 7th grade, where I had the chance to participate in PANAMUN XXIII as an admin, and in 8th grade, where I participated as a delegate in both PANAMUN XXIV and the Montessori Model United Nations conference in Santiago, Chile. My most recent experience is being last year’s CRISIS chair in PANAMUN XXV. It is my absolute honor to be able to be your chair and I hope you all are as excited about this year’s session as I am! It is in my best intention to provide you all with engaging and thought-provoking issues that will require hard-work and dialogue to come together and resolve. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email me. Good luck and I look forward to seeing you all very soon!
Patricio Flores
Greetings delegates! My name is Patricio Flores and it is my utmost honor to be one of your chairs for the Disarmament and International Security Committee for PANAMUN XXVI. Even though I was born in the United States, I mostly consider myself to be Mexican, as most of my family is from there, and I spent the majority of my life living there. Besides Mexico and the United States, I briefly lived in Canada where I attended boarding school and that was when I was first introduced to the world of debate. After that, I had the opportunity to be part of a debate team in Mexico. Finally, last year, after moving to Panama, I had my first opportunity to participate in a PANAMUN conference where I won the best delegate award. Besides debating, I enjoy playing sports, particularly rugby and tennis, playing video games, and playing any kind of board game--but especially Dungeons & Dragons. I am very excited for the conference and I am sure all delegates will passionately participate and debate as is appropriate for a conference of such caliber. Do not be frightened to participate as that is what makes the experience exciting! I hope to see you all soon and make this an unforgettable experience!
