Guilherme Lobo

Hello delegates, and welcome to this year’s edition of PANAMUN XXVI! My name is Guille Lobo and I am honored to be a chair of the Historical Committee this year. This will be my first year as a chair, however my fourth MUN conference. Ever since 9th grade, I have been actively participating in other conferences such as HACIA, among others. I was born in Brazil, yet I have lived in Panama for nine years. Now, I am currently a junior at ISP. I enjoy sports like soccer, and am very passionate about music -- especially playing the guitar. Debate has not only helped me to constantly improve my public speaking skills, but also to have much more confidence in myself. Through experience, I have learned that the best way to partake in conferences like PANAMUN is to show interest in the topics being debated, get involved, and meet new people. This will not only make the conference more interesting, but particularly enjoyable. Therefore, I look forward to meeting all of you, and encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to make it an unforgettable experience! Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Mathias Kjeldsen

Hello, my name is Mathias Kjeldsen and welcome to PANAMUN XXVI! I moved to Panama three years ago and have since grown a love for debating. Aside from debating, I enjoy playing sports, such as golf and football. I am currently a senior at the International School of Panama and this will be my third year participating in PANAMUN. In the first two conferences, I participated as a delegate; this is the first time I will be a chair. I believe being able to take a stand and showing empathy is key in these types of conferences. Coming to a consensus includes having everyone engaged and hopefully, as delegates, you will be able to do just that.  This year, I have the privilege of being one of your chairs in the Historical Crisis committee, the first time the committee is a part of PANAMUN. I hope you all are as eager as I am to get the debate started and have a fantastic conference. Every year I have participated in PANAMUN, I have enjoyed it even more, and I can assure you the excellence of the conference. I look forward to meeting all of you and debating some of the most impactful events of our history!

Isabel Fonseca

Hey, delegates! My name is Isabel Fonseca, and I’m currently a sophomore at the International School of Panama. I discovered my passion for debate in the 8th grade, when I joined the MUN club. Since then, I’ve participated as a delegate in two PANAMUN conferences and had the opportunity to attend THIMUN in February. Over the years, I’ve witnessed the great leadership and the hard work that is put into this conference. I’m beyond excited to experience the preparation and process firsthand as a chair. Other than debate, my interests include track and field, hanging out with friends, and indulging in a good book. This is the first year the Historical Crisis Committee is part of PANAMUN, and I’m incredibly honored to be chairing it. Through a fruitful debate, delegates will have the opportunity to change the course of history! I look forward to meeting you all and hope to make this session an unforgettable one. Do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns. See you all in October!
