Sofia Karter
Welcome to PANAMUN XXVI, delegates! I am Sofia Karter, and I am beyond excited to be one of the co-presidents of the International Court of Justice in this year’s conference! Currently I’m 17 years old and a senior at the International School of Panama. I was born in the Dominican Republic and I have lived in Panama for eleven years now. My experience with MUN began five years ago with my first debate conference back in eighth grade, PANAMUN XXII. That is where I discovered that I enjoyed being a delegate and taking part in discussions where I had to defend strong points of view. This is what motivated me to participate as a delegate in PANAMUN and HACIA Democracy for the following two years, and then for the first time as a chair in last year’s conference, PANAMUN XXV. This will be my second time as a chair and my first time ever in the ICJ. Apart from MUN, I’m also a tennis player and a lover of the performing arts.

Luis Alfredo Gil
My name is Luis Alfredo Gil Garcia Comerma Pereira… but you can just call me Luis. I'm currently a senior at ISP and I have been in this beautiful establishment since 2010. Even though I still haven't found my calling, I have tried all the sports and afterschool activities available at ISP. I love to try new things, and I’m always happy and open minded. I am super stoked to meet all of you and push you to do your very best both in and outside of committee. I have participated in PANAMUN for the past three years: once as a delegate for a Spanish committee, once as an admin, and once as the best judge in ICJ. Apart from that, you will always find me passionately debating something as heavy as human rights or as trivial as what color my friend’s laptop cover should be. I enjoy eating, traveling, going out -- especially to social events -- and simply making people laugh. I can't stress enough how excited I am for this conference and I'm sure this is going to be the best time for all of you and me as well!
