Valeria Cajiga
Welcome delegates to PANAMUN XXVI! My name is Valeria Cajiga, and I am thrilled to be one of your United Nations Economic and Social Council chairs in this first ever Middle School conference. I am currently a senior and come from Mexico, though I’ve lived in Panama for the past ten years of my life. PANAMUN has been part of who I am since the eighth grade, which is when I first decided to take part in this incomparable conference. I’ve contributed to the conference in various areas, such as being a delegate, being part of ECHOPRESS, and as of this year, being a chair for the second time. Other than having a passion for debate and global issues, I love music and theatre, as well as travelling around the world. I am truly excited to see all of you get out of your comfort zone and trying something new! I am confident that this experience will be memorable for each and every one of you, so make sure to make the best of it. If you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact my partner and me. Good luck, and see you soon!
David Cobo
Greetings! My name is David Cobo. I’m currently a senior at ISP and have taken part in three conferences thus far. I have gone from hardly speaking in the first conference to becoming a chair for PANAMUN 2018. I am of Colombian descent but lived in Canada for the majority of my life so I am comfortable in both languages. I have lived in Panama for almost six years now and am very happy to now be a chair for this conference. I’m an active person and really enjoy all types of sports, physical exertion, but I always find time to read a book and have quiet time. I’ve found passion in debating and having my ideas be heard. I think it’s crucial that everyone’s ideas are heard and elaborated on because multiple minds are better than one. I’m very excited to be part of this year’s PANAMUN conference and have the privilege of being a chair for the United Nations Economic and Social Council. I cannot wait to be part of the fruitful discussion that will be carried on by the delegates and hearing the bright ideas our youth has to offer.
