Julia Hietavirta

Welcome delegates of PANAMUN XXVI! My name is Julia Hietavirta and I’m a junior at the International School of Panama. I was born in Venezuela and have lived in Brazil and Spain. I’ve spent 11 years now living in Panama. Nevertheless, I consider myself to be Finnish, as the entirety of my family is from Finland. I love singing, listening to music, reading, writing and hiking, as well as debating, but that goes unsaid. I’m honored to be chairing the Social, Cultural, and Humanitarian Committee this year. It will be my third PANAMUN conference, but my first one as a Chair. I got my first chance to be part of PANAMUN in the eighth grade as a delegate in DISEC. My second year of PANAMUN I got into ICJ as a judge. Needless to say, I’m looking forward to this year’s conference and I hope for a fruitful three days of debating! Please don’t hesitate to get in contact with me through whatever means if you have any questions or concerns. Let’s, together, making this the best PANAMUN conference yet! See you in October!
