Gabrielle Hodes
Hey delegates and welcome to this year’s PANAMUN! My name is Gabrielle Hodes, but most people call me Gigi. I was born in Manhattan, New York, and lived there until I was 10--when my parents decided to move on a sailboat. We spent almost two years sailing around the Caribbean until we decided to move back to land and settled in Panama. I’ve been living here for five years, but I’ve only been at ISP for a year and a half. I’ve been doing debate for 3 years, so this year will be my third PANAMUN and my eighth conference (including international ones like THIMUN, HACIA, and PILPUL Debate Argentina). Apart from MUN, I enjoy dancing, reading, and hanging out with friends. I particularly love debate because I love seeing and understanding how different people think and form their opinions. I’m super excited to chair UNDP this year, and if you have any questions feel free to contact me. See you in October!
Cheha Ryu
Hello, my name is Cheha Ryu and I’m currently a senior at the International School of Panama. I was born here in Panama and I’ve lived here my entire life, so I’ve been very involved with ISP as a school and PANAMUN. Other than my involvement in PANAMUN, some of the things I enjoy are rugby, basketball, and reading. I have been given the chance to be a chair in PANAMUN and essentially be the leader of the discussions and committees alongside my co-chair for my fourth conference. Honestly, I’m really excited to share with you all the passion and hard work that has been put into this year’s conference and hope that everyone in the committee can have a good time and truly enjoy themselves. My main goal for this year’s conference is to be able to spark passion and interest in you, the delegates, and make this an experience you can remember for a long time, maybe even exposing you to some new perspectives. I look forward to the great times we will be having during the conference and the debate we will have!
