Hamza Yaafar

Hey! My name is Hamza Yaafar. I am currently a sophomore at the International School of Panama, and, this year,  I have the privilege of being a chair for the United Nations Environment Programme in PANAMUN XXVI. I was born in Panama City, Panama, which is where I have lived my entire life. Ever since I joined my school’s MUN club in the seventh grade, I have cultivated a passion for public speaking and debating. I have participated in multiple conferences including HACIA Democracy and Montessori MUN. The first time I experienced PANAMUN was in the seventh grade when I had the opportunity to get involved as an admin. This served as an introduction to PANAMUN and led me to continue to engage in other editions of the conference as a delegate. This will be my sixth overall conference. Apart from being a member of the debate club, I am a member of the student council and enjoy track and field. I am a firm believer that through passionate engagement, debate can be an enjoyable experience for everyone, so I encourage you all to participate! I am thrilled to meet all of you during the conference!

Fenna Sigmond

Hello, and welcome to PANAMUN XXVI! My name is Fenna Sigmond, and I am a sophomore at the International School of Panama and one of your chairs for the United Nations Environment Programme! I became involved in debate last year, at PANAMUN XXV, and aside from PANAMUN, I have been to HACIA Democracy debate conference, making this year’s PANAMUN my third debating experience. I was born in the US, though I am originally from the Netherlands and Germany; Panama will be the fifth country I have lived in, having moved here 3 years ago. Aside from debating, I am a fencer and like to read, write, and draw. I look forward to meeting all of you in debate, and hope that you are as excited for this conference as I am!
