Woonki Park

Welcome to the 2018 PANAMUN XXVI conference! My name is Woonki Park and I am currently a senior at the International School of Panama. I was born in South Korea, but I have lived in other countries, such as Vietnam and South Africa. I was first introduced to the world of MUN in 2015 as a delegate of the Human Rights Council in South Africa, and when I moved to Panama in ninth grade, I began my journey as a delegate in PANAMUN. The two conferences in which I participated in as a delegate were a great learning experience not just as a student body, but as a member of the global community. Last year I had the honor of chairing the Disarmament and International Security Committee, and this year I will be responsible for the United Nations High Commission for Refugees. I’m very eager to meet all of you, and I hope that our committee can cooperate well as a unit in order to find resolutions to the countless issues that exist in today’s world. As a returning chair, a tip for you delegates is to be confident, enthusiastic, and please don’t be afraid to ask for help -- we won’t bite! That being said, I look forward to meeting all of you delegates as soon as possible and making this conference an unforgettable one!

Adela Dib

Hello delegates! My name is Adela Dib, and I am currently a senior at the Metropolitan School of Panama, where I have been studying since 6th grade. I was born in Venezuela, but moved to Panama 6 years ago. I have been in my school’s MUN club since 9th grade, and since then I have developed a passion for debating and finding solutions to problems that affect our world. I have participated in both international and national conferences, some of these including: WAMUNC, GCIMUN and PANAMUN. After attending several conferences, I have learned that MUN is a place where you get to understand issues from different perspectives and become more knowledgeable, so take this opportunity to learn and enjoy. Apart from debating, I enjoy swimming, traveling and spending time with friends and family. I am honored to be a chair for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) committee and look forward to seeing you all in this year’s edition of PANAMUN. I am excited to see all of you debate and write resolutions that tackle the issues being debated.  If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact us! Good luck!
