Ahmad Yaafar
Greetings delegates, my name is Ahmad Yaafar, and I will be one of the chairs for the United Nations Peacebuilding Commission (UNPBC) during PANAMUN XXVI. I am currently a senior at the International School of Panama and have attended the school since kindergarten. I like to participate in sports and have a growing love for technology and programming. I began to get involved in MUN in the 8th grade, and this will be my 5th participation in a PANAMUN conference in which I have participated three times as a delegate and twice as a chair. Ever since my first conference, I developed a passion for debating and finding resolutions for pressing issues which have an international impact. I have also participated in The Hague Model United Nations (THIMUN) in its 50th edition. PANAMUN is an accessible platform to engage in the discussion of controversial issues. I look forward to seeing delegates fully engaged and passionate during the conference, and I am very hopeful for an exemplary debate. Hope to see you all prepared to debate and achieve our most important goal, strengthening our humanity.
Nizar Dahrouj
Welcome, delegates, to PANAMUN XXVI. My name is Nizar Dahrouj and I am currently a senior at the International School of Panama. I was born in Panama and have lived here my whole life. This PANAMUN conference will be my fourth but first as chair. I started participating in PANAMUN as a freshman, and after many years of being a delegate and creating a feeling of intimacy for debate, I felt the courage to step up. I am very excited to be your United Nations Peacebuilding Commission (UNPBC) chair and can’t wait to hear every single delegate express themselves and their ideas. I know this can be tough, but I’m also aware that with a lot of team effort and hard work, we can make a lot of progress and get our ideas out there. Most importantly, I look forward to have all delegates bond with each other and be fearless during the conference because PANAMUN is also a time one should enjoy. I anxiously await this conference and meeting all of you!
