Sofía Labarca

Hello delegates! My name is Sofia Labarca, and I am thrilled to be your chair for the World Health Organization. I was born in Chile, yet throughout my life I have lived in Senegal, Ghana, El Salvador, and now Panama. This is my last year as a student at the International School of Panama, which makes this conference so special to me. Since I moved to Panama three years ago, I have been participating in the conference every year. PANAMUN is a one of a kind conference; nothing compares to it. The conference lights up a passion in delegates and helps them open their eyes to issues of global significance. I look forward to helping you discover your passion in debating and accompanying you in your PANAMUN XXVI experience. Apart from debating, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, being active outdoors, and doing everything I can to make the world a little bit better every day. I am beyond ecstatic to be chairing the World Health Organization as it was this committee that brought out my debating passion and inspired me to become a chair this year. Hopefully, after the conference, you will see why this committee has a special place in my heart. I look forward to meeting all of you, helping you find or grow a passion for debating, and having a wonderful time debating!

Marina Coronado

Hello, delegates! My name is Marina Coronado and I am excited to be your chair in the World Health Organization (WHO) committee. I am currently a senior at the Metropolitan School of Panama, where I have been studying since 5th grade. I was born in Mexico but moved to Panama 7 years ago. Ever since I joined the MUN club at my school, I became passionate about solving the issues of our world. Building arguments, developing questions, creating resolutions, and finding new ways to tackle them. I realized that MUN makes you stronger in every single way, in your beliefs, the way you express them and how you act upon them. It makes you an active citizen of our world. I have participated in various national and international conferences, some of these including GCIMUN, PANAMUN, and WAMUNC. Every single conference I have attended has been an experience to become more knowledgeable, so use this opportunity to grow as a delegate! Aside from debating, I enjoy dancing, triathlon, music, and spending time with friends. I am honored to be a chair in this year’s edition of PANAMUN and I’m looking forward to seeing all of you debate and create resolutions for the issues presented. Be confident and don’t be afraid to ask for help!
