Guilherme Lobo
Hello delegates, and welcome to this year’s edition of Panamun XXVII! My name is Guille Lobo and I am honored to be chairing of the Historical Committee this year. This will be my second year as a chair, however my fifth MUN conference. Ever since 9th grade, I have been actively participating in other conferences such as HACIA, among others. I was born in Brazil, yet I have lived in Panama over ten years now. I am currently a senior at ISP. I enjoy sports like soccer, and am very passionate about music -- especially playing the guitar. Debate has not only helped me to constantly improve my public speaking skills, but also to have much more confidence in myself. Through experience, I have learned that the best way to partake in conferences like Panamun is to show interest in the topics being debated, get involved, and meet new people. This will not only make the conference more interesting, but particularly enjoyable. Therefore, I look forward to meeting all of you, and encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to make it an unforgettable experience! Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
Isabel Fonseca
Hey, delegates! My name is Isabel Fonseca, and I’m currently a junior at the International School of Panama. I discovered my passion for debate in the 8th grade when I joined the MUN club. Since then, I’ve participated as a delegate in two PANAMUN conferences and had the opportunity to be a chair for the first time last year. I’ve also attended other conferences in Panama like CEP MOAS and even traveled abroad to participate in prestigious conferences like HACIA Democracy and THIMUN. Over the years, I’ve witnessed the great leadership and the hard work that is put into this conference. I’m beyond excited to go through this experience once again. Other than debate, my interests include track and field, hanging out with friends, and indulging in a good book. This is my second year chairing the Historical Crisis Committee, and I’m extremely honored to keep being a part of it. Through a fruitful debate, delegates will have the opportunity to change the course of history! I look forward to meeting you all and hope to make this session an unforgettable one. Do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns. See you all in October!
Johannes Toppe
Hey, delegates! My name’s Johannes - you can call me Joey - and I’m a junior at the International School of Panama. I am half Norwegian and half Ivorian and have been living in Panama for two years. This is my first year chairing a committee, and I am very excited about bringing the best out of all you in this upcoming conference. I have participated in debate conferences in Panama and Italy, and PANAMUN XXVII will be my fourth. My passions include cycling, track & field, getting involved in the student community and learning new skills (I recently learnt to ride a unicycle). With Historical Crisis being a special committee, I know that you are truly committed delegates who are looking for something different from the typical. I can’t wait to meet you all in October, and please email me if you have any questions!
