Meet Leticia Knudsen,
The Secretary General of
PANAMUN XXIV
Hello, my name is Leticia Knudsen and I am honoured to be the Secretary General for PANAMUN XXIV. I am 18 years old and a current senior at the International School of Panama. Although I was born in Brazil, I have lived in several countries, including the United States of America, Mexico, Panama, and the United Kingdom. My passion for MUN started in the 8th Grade in PANAMUN XX. In the same year, I had the opportunity to travel to New York City for a Global Classrooms conference where I represented Haiti in the General Assembly. Once I entered high school, I took part in PANAMUN XXI as the delegate of Canada in the Commission for Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice. During my 10th grade year, I took a year abroad in England where I had the opportunity to attend THIMUN for the first time. I was part of the Human Rights Committee where I represented Nicaragua. While still being in England, I was given the opportunity to apply to be a student officer for PANAMUN XXIII, as I was returning to ISP as a junior for the following year. Unexpectedly, I was appointed as Head Chair for the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific. After a very successful conference, my next focus was THIMUN, as I was appointed Assistant President for the Human Rights Committee, the same committee I was put in the previous year as a delegate. Knowing senior year would be my last year of MUN, I wanted to play a bigger role in the development of the conference that ignited my initial passion for debate. I had the desire to help improve the conference to a greater extent than what I have already contributed. Being part of the Secretariat has allowed me to do so. It has been an amazing experience where teamwork has been fundamental for our success. I am very excited for this year’s conference, and I hope that PANAMUN XXIV exceeds all expectations.
