Maria Fernanda González
Deputy Secretary General of Middle School
Hello everybody! My name is Maria Fernanda González (Mafe) and I am extremely honored to be this year’s Middle School Deputy Secretary-General alongside Raúl Endara. I am currently a senior at the International School of Panama, and I am originally from Brazil, where I have lived for most of my life. However, I have also lived in Venezuela, and this is my fifth year living here in Panama. Other than debating, I love dancing, spending time with my friends and family, traveling, and listening to music.
I have been involved in debate ever since my freshman year of high school, and since then, I have chaired three times, attended multiple MUN conferences, and have been the head of the middle school diplomacy club. My extended experience at MUN made me not only realize my passion for debate but also, my passion for working with middle school students. I love seeing their incredible debating capabilities flourish during the three days of debate. And In my experience working with middle schoolers, I have seen a pattern of immense dedication, hard work, and a high level of debate that exceeds expectations, while never failing to amaze me and the rest of the PANAMUN staff.
Raul and I will work extremely hard alongside the rest of the secretariat team to make PANAMUN 30 the best PANAMUN ever! I am super excited to bring this amazing conference to life, and I can't wait to see every single one of you in October!
