The Human Rights Council is a body enclosed by the United Nations system and was established by the UN General Assembly on 15 March 2006. This Council is made up of 47 States that are all responsible for the protection and promotion of the human rights all around the world. Issues such as cultural rights or civil/political rights are all addressed by the HRC. Topics that range from the Israeli-Palestine conflict to violations on women’s rights or LGBT rights are debated. This Council is divided into five bodies; the HRC, the Universal Periodic Review, the Commission on Human Rights, the Special Procedures of the HRC, and last but not least the Human Rights Council Complaint Procedure.  The UN has to monitor and help implement the human rights standards. The goal of this HRC is to make these human rights available to everyone.
