Gassan Salama - Chair

Salutations, delegates, my name is Gassan Salama and I will be the chair of the Economic and Social Council in PANAMUN XXIV. I was born in Panama and have attended the International School of Panama since second grade. MUN has become a passion of mine for the past four years as I’ve enjoyed both voicing my opinion and organizing the conference to be able to listen to other people’s points of view. My MUN career so far has been as a delegate twice and as a chair another two times. At the start of my MUN career, I felt intimidated to participate in front of

other international students, but as the conference progressed, I started feeling more and more compelled to engage as the issues discussed were actually of my interest. Throughout the years, I have learned to appreciate MUN for what it is, a way for students to submerge themselves in global topics and to voice their opinions on said issues. For PANAMUN XXIV, I wish to make your experience at ECOSOC the best possible through a compelling and realistic debate.
