Jorge Brito - Co-Chair

My name is Jorge Brito and I am a senior at ISP. I was born in Costa Rica and even though I haven’t lived there for too long and I don’t have the accent I truly love my country. My career in MUN, as I could call it, started in Peru when I joined the MUN team at Newton College. The first conference was pretty difficult for me, especially because my English at the time wasn’t very good. As my skills were improving, I attended different conferences such as LiMUN, Harvard MUN, Peruvian University MUN, apart from the debates in different schools. My abilities developed and I was able to truly learn a lot. As an experienced delegate at Newton I ascended in the MUN ladder, allowing me to experience positions of power, and most importantly pass on my knowledge to new delegates. I didn’t participate in my first PANAMUN conference until last year, which was truly a dream come true. MUN is very important and dear to me. As one of the members of the chairs in this year’s conference I hope I can help you improve your skills and furthermore make you truly enjoy the conference.
Human Rights
Council 2
Joy Wildemans - Chair

I would kindly like to welcome you to the 2016 PANAMUN XXIV conference. My name is Joy Wildemans and I will be this year’s Head Chair of the Human Rights Council. I am currently a senior at the International School of Panama. I was born in the Netherlands and lived in Spain and Dubai before moving to Panama. I have been involved in PANAMUN since ninth grade, making this my fourth and last conference. My years at ISP have allowed me to find a passion for participating in such conferences. Being part of the Global Issues Network at school gives me a similar experience of being able to work with people from all over the world to try to tackle global issues. I am excited to see what resolutions our committee can come up with to solve the issues that will be debated. I am confident that my position as officer this year will encourage people from around the world to connect with one another, meanwhile creating inspiring resolutions through strong, insightful debates. I am looking forward to making the PANAMUN XXIV conference an unforgettable experience!
