The Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ) was established by ECOSOC as one of it’s various functional committees. It is the main body that works to establish policies on issues regarding crimes and their prevention. These crimes include, but are not limited to: drug and human trafficking, corruption, organized crime, terrorism, etc. They may also include global problems related to human rights, such as prisoner conditions as well as gender-related killings. Furthermore, CCPCJ enables its members to exchange expertise, develop national and transnational strategies, and identify priorities for combating crimes.
